In a reaction to the dizzying and dismaying world we find ourselves in, my current A Series paintings incorporate a variety of found objects and thick layers of texture but very little surface color. Like an ancient sheet of parchment that has been reused, or an ancient city built on centuries of prior settlement, the A Series paintings show a history of colorful marks and textures mostly hidden by a sort of whitewash.
